IIT Delhi : Mechanical to Electrical

and My Journey

Title is little confusing, isn't it ? You might be thinking that what its all about. So I'll clear all the things in the post.

As my blog link expresses I am Piyush Joshi. I am a student of Civil Engineering at NIT Kurukshetra. It was my dream to study in IIT Delhi- Mechanical Engineering. Earlier I studied in Resonance Kota. Most of the students from all over the country come to Kota with a dream of to be an IITian, and I was also one of them. But I wanted to be different than others by securing a good position in JEE Advance so  as everyone. In starting months my performance was quite good and i was sure about my selection. but as the time passes syllabus was continuously increasing and that's the thing where most of the students ( like me ) use our smartness and fall on their face.

I remember when i joined Resonance than there was  motivation class for us. It was for all the students who came to kota that year and wanted to crack JEE. Students need that too, because its only the motivation who keep them alive and give them hope for the selection. Our Teachers in Resonance were there in motivation class who were addressing. They mentioned some major points which are important in selection. One of them was " Don't revise your syllabus in mid of your course, once its completed you can revise it as many times you want." That was the point i missed during my preparation and missed my dream to be in IIT Delhi Mechanical Engineering.

My inspiration for IIT-D Mechanical was one of my school senior, Yogesh Choudhary. He was very intelligent guys. I don't know he'll read it not but his one cover pic made crazy about IIT-D. lol :P
He was place in Relianc, Jamnagar and currently he is preparing for IAS in Delhi. Best wishes to him.

here's that cover pic.

guy with the bag is Yogesh. I don't know what was special in this pic but y'know what it did to me.

Here is a pic of our Physics Teacher, who was CEO of Resonance too. Even though he had a lot of work to do but he was dedicated to his students and he used to take 3-4 classes per day. Every Resonite want to attend his class and i was one of those lucky students.

Mr. R K Verma, CEO Resonance
I got admission in NIT Kurukshetra and here also my first choice was Mechanical and Civl was second. During an club's interview a senior asked me what was your dream ? I replied " IIT Delhi Mechanical". He said " Now you can't go there because you are a dropper so what now ?" I said "I'll be happy if my brother will be there. He is an IIT aspirant."

That senior was in final year and i was a first year guy. so He passed out last year but i had that thing in my mind that my brother will be selected and i wanted him to go to IIT Delhi. And This year on June 18 he got selected wit AIR - 852. I my dream come true. Doesn't matter i'm not there but he is and that's enough to be happy. Yesterday on July 7, he got IIT-Delhi Electrical and that makes me happy :)

here is Ayush
He was just trying that sot and a solid ball was in.
but that doesn't mean he can play pool. You can imagine where that ball was.
By the way he is a good cricket player.

Here is the screenshot of status that i put on that day.

Actually my post got more likes than his  :P
because he got phone calls from all of wishers. :)

If title is not clear to you, i don't have problem to share it once more :P

I wanted IIT-D Mechanical and he got IIT-D Electrical. Thats it :)

Thanks for reading.

Naked

A few months back, I came across a  YouTube short  of  Slavoj Žižek . I don’t watch reels or shorts as it’s a rabbit hole. Once you’re in, getting out is hard. That reel was a part of his interview and had a story.  Žižek  is a Slovenian philosopher. A girl came to  Žižek  and told him that when his last lover saw her naked, he told her to lose a few extra pounds. Her lover thinks she will be perfect once she loses 3 -4 extra pounds.  Žižek  told her not to lose that extra pound. He said that imperfection is the cause of desire. This imperfection held him close to her. He might lose interest in her once she loses those extra pounds. It is called the objective cause of desire in psychoanalysis. That brought two things to my mind. First, we are humans and naturally wired to find negatives anywhere. It is just simple threat protection mechanism. So if the girl secrets the extra pound, his partner’s eyes would the...

Bad Company : With a touch of Indian history

Those who do not read the history tend to repeat it.  Ever heard the above quote ?    In school we had a story of a bad company and a friend of mine, Sanjay said jokingly 'all company is bad company'. Don't go into grammatical errors of it since we were Hindi medium students and more importantly kids. I think both of us now working for some corporate would agree to this with some extent but I am sure that Sanjay had not said this keeping corporate in mind because we were in middle school and we did not know where would we go.  Possible comparison he must have done is East India Company to Bad company of friends, bad friends can do enough damage to you in similar ways that East India Company did to India. Though, this reasoning can now be linked to corporate as well. Choice is personal and reasoning as well, but the thought can not be discarded altogether at once. I do have my reasons but let's get into history and see if we have something in common between East Indi...

Symbols

“Why are you obsessed with death?” “No, I am not.” “Well, you are. Because you are not afraid to talk about it.” “Yes, that’s right. I know I am going to die, and so are you. No matter how much I love you, I know you are going to die. Also, It’s symbolic as well, and not actual always.” “What do you mean by symbolic and actual?” “People die actually, and people die symbolically. You’ve not yet thought about how one can die symbolically. That’s all, but now this thought is not going to leave your mind.” “Stop it, please. Why talk about it, even if this is going to happen.” “Not talking about it also not going to stop it. Being immortal is the worst thing that can happen to us.” “I wouldn’t say so.. but still stop. I don’t want to talk now.” .. and then I stopped with a smile, knowing the person was going to die, either before me or after me. Things I did, Things we, in general, do in love will hold no meaning after some time, this is death. Death is not just limited to the hum...
