Last Love

Sometimes priorities makes you to leave people.

Sessionals were over and vacations started. Parikshit stayed in the hostel for some days to study something and to give a test of a company. He was not qualified for second round that was PI, So those three days were fully wasted. He had reservation on the day after the test and his train was in night so he had a complete day to enjoy or visit somewhere in the Pink City, state capital of Rajasthan. He asked friends in group to go for the movie. Most of them are from CS and IT so they were placed and were at home. He decided to go there with Bhoomi. They are good friends for last five years and things were not too good since he started preparing for some competitive exam. He doesn't get enough time for her and she doesn't like that and this is the sole reason for some disputes between them. Parikshit was free for a whole day so he called Bhoomi and asked her to go for a movie. Only choice they had was “Pink”, because it was rated 9.2 on IMDb. So they decided to go to Rajmandir for the movie. They were quite happy. They hadn't been together for a long time and had a lot of workload. So to get stress free and to enjoy both agreed for outing and with a hope that it'll make everything alright.

Parikshit picked her up from her pg at Mansarover, and then they left for the central park first. They sat on the grass and talked about some memories. She wanted to ask something; even Parikshit knew she wanted to ask but he didn't ask her if there was something. Because that may hurt him or her or there might be something that lead to end of this beautiful friendship of 6 years. He still remember when he first saw her at the seminar organized by Allen Career Institute in Birla Auditorium in Jaipur. She asked something and attracted him. Later they met in Kota. Parikshit recognized her and told her about the same day and that's how he met her and it started their friendship. They were in the same batch in Allen. So they used meet every day. McDonald's was near their building so they used go thereafter their institutions monthly test. Of course both of them couldn't make it to IIT but he got NIT and she got some other college in Jaipur.

Initially they had enough time to visit. Later they had a group of 11 people. They used to go somewhere in Jaipur on almost every weekend. While talking in the central park they talked how much they have enjoyed with their group and with each other in last 6 years.

After the central park they went to McDonald's as they used to go in Kota. McVeggie was his favorite and her was only French fries so they used to purchase only one meal that include one McVeggie, French fries and a coke. They ordered the same and shared the coke as usual. He was avoiding her eyes because they were shining and expecting something but he knew that he could not fulfill that wish. So he didn't ask.

After that they headed towards Rajmandir. Before entering into Hall something weird happened. She held his hand and asked that she wanted to tell him something and it was very serious so don't take it light. Parikshit said 'if its this much serious then don't tell.' 'But Parikshit...' She said. He interrupted her and said ' Bhoomi it'll ruin everything and if you are sure it won't, then tell me.' 'I'm sure it won't. I believe you' she replied. 'So what's the matter ?' he asked.

She said 'we have been together for last 6 years. You were always there for me and I'm thankful for that. Both of us know we didn't do anything wrong but now it's the time we should be on one side, because it's about our future. You don't get time for me neither do I, because of our studies. We have to decide we are gonna live together or not. And that's the decision I want to take with you, not alone. So what do you want to say?'

'Can we decide it after the movie?' Parikshit asked. She kept holding his hand more closely like he was running away from her. Then they went into Hall and movie started. Movie was slow in the first half but he still liked it. In fact he told her that he loved the movie. During the movie he was thinking about how could he save his friendship from ruining.

After the movie Bhoomi wanted to start the conversation they had before the movie. Parikshit was still thinking what to do. He didn't have enough time for anything because asked her that write in her phone's text box yes or no (i.e her answer that she wanted to live or not?) and sent it to him. He did the same at the same time.

He wrote 'NO' and sent to her. He was shocked with her answer. Maybe she knew what he wanted, because there was a 'no' in her reply. He saw her hiding her tears after that, maybe she also noted the same. He had tears because he lost a friend, the only friend he earned. He knew he is good at loosing people but the only person he earned he lost. He lost her because of his priorities. His priority was his career and that's why he has to leave relation behind. He didn't know they'll meet someday or not, but he was sure that career is much more important than everything else.

and That was his Last Love

Naked

A few months back, I came across a  YouTube short  of  Slavoj Žižek . I don’t watch reels or shorts as it’s a rabbit hole. Once you’re in, getting out is hard. That reel was a part of his interview and had a story.  Žižek  is a Slovenian philosopher. A girl came to  Žižek  and told him that when his last lover saw her naked, he told her to lose a few extra pounds. Her lover thinks she will be perfect once she loses 3 -4 extra pounds.  Žižek  told her not to lose that extra pound. He said that imperfection is the cause of desire. This imperfection held him close to her. He might lose interest in her once she loses those extra pounds. It is called the objective cause of desire in psychoanalysis. That brought two things to my mind. First, we are humans and naturally wired to find negatives anywhere. It is just simple threat protection mechanism. So if the girl secrets the extra pound, his partner’s eyes would the...

Bad Company : With a touch of Indian history

Those who do not read the history tend to repeat it.  Ever heard the above quote ?    In school we had a story of a bad company and a friend of mine, Sanjay said jokingly 'all company is bad company'. Don't go into grammatical errors of it since we were Hindi medium students and more importantly kids. I think both of us now working for some corporate would agree to this with some extent but I am sure that Sanjay had not said this keeping corporate in mind because we were in middle school and we did not know where would we go.  Possible comparison he must have done is East India Company to Bad company of friends, bad friends can do enough damage to you in similar ways that East India Company did to India. Though, this reasoning can now be linked to corporate as well. Choice is personal and reasoning as well, but the thought can not be discarded altogether at once. I do have my reasons but let's get into history and see if we have something in common between East Indi...

Symbols

“Why are you obsessed with death?” “No, I am not.” “Well, you are. Because you are not afraid to talk about it.” “Yes, that’s right. I know I am going to die, and so are you. No matter how much I love you, I know you are going to die. Also, It’s symbolic as well, and not actual always.” “What do you mean by symbolic and actual?” “People die actually, and people die symbolically. You’ve not yet thought about how one can die symbolically. That’s all, but now this thought is not going to leave your mind.” “Stop it, please. Why talk about it, even if this is going to happen.” “Not talking about it also not going to stop it. Being immortal is the worst thing that can happen to us.” “I wouldn’t say so.. but still stop. I don’t want to talk now.” .. and then I stopped with a smile, knowing the person was going to die, either before me or after me. Things I did, Things we, in general, do in love will hold no meaning after some time, this is death. Death is not just limited to the hum...
